We’re excited to introduce a fun new line of educational geography games and puzzles to our shop!  The products from Geotoys are designed in Wisconsin, but their games and puzzles extend to all reaches of the globe, allowing children to travel abroad without leaving home.

“We believe that the more children learn about the world, the more they will do to protect it when they grow up,” says Geotoys.  We, too, share this hope, and it’s one of the many reasons we’re delighted to bring Geotoys into our shop to share with you.

Among the many products available are GeoPuzzles, which are colorful jigsaw puzzles that have pieces shaped like individual countries, states, and provinces.  As children put these tactile and visual puzzles together, they learn about the geography of the world around them.

Not only do the puzzles encourage global awareness, but they promote fine motor, cognitive, language, and problem-solving skills.

GeoPuzzles are available in the following regions: Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East, United States and Canada, and World.

We also have American History and Constitution Go Fish Games, World and USA bingo games, Constitution and American History Go Fish Games, and Flag Frenzy matching games.

While children come into the world ready to decode sounds and words, music education helps enhance those natural abilities. “Growing up in a musically rich environment is often advantageous for children’s language development,” she says. But Luehrisen adds that those inborn capacities need to be “reinforced, practiced, celebrated,” which can be done at home or in a more formal music education setting.” Read the rest of this entry »
